Dual rated Bursting Disc for Protection against Pressure and Vauum

The bi-directional acting bursting disc combines the proven function of two bursting discs: on the one hand that of the forwardacting triple section bursting
disc ODV and on the other hand the reverse acting buckling pin bursting disc KUB.

Different response pressures can be achieved. It protects in one direction against inadmissible pressure and in the opposite direction against inadmissible vacuum. The bursting discs takes on the function of two bursting discs in one single assembly.

The BT-ZW-F bursting disc offers the benefits of freedom from maintenance, reliability and robustness, even at lowest response pressure. The ZW opens fragmentation-free in both directions and is suitable for liquids and gases. Unpressurised tanks with low stress capability are typical applications.

In the vacuum direction the response pressure is fixed by the forward-acting burst element with its breaking points. Protection in the pressure direction is given according to the KUB buckling-pin principle. The sealing function is provided by a PTFE or FEP membrane.

The bursting disc is mounted directly between flanges or angular rings. A separate bursting disc holder is not required. By means of an inductive signalling unit ‘SNR’ the bursting disc can be monitored in both directions at the same time.
