"Two-way" Bursting Disc ZW

By combining the KUB® technology and the proven triple-section bursting disc design, both invented by REMBE®, the bi-directional responding  ZW was brought to life.

The bi-directional acting bursting disc takes over the function of two bursting discs, but only requires one installation point. It protects in one direction against inadmissible pressures and in the opposite direction against inadmissible vacuums.

In pressure direction, the response pressure is determined by the breaking points in the pre-stressed bursting element. The sealing function is provided by a PTFE or FEP membrane. In vacuum direction, the buckling-pin principle is applied, where compression pins buckle at the specified vacuum and initiate opening.

It can be mounted without expensive holding units directly between flanges and angle rings.

It is used where gas or liquid processing equipment has to be protected against both pressure and vacuum at the same time.
